Bikes of the Tour de France Teams - Cannondale Drapac

13 July 2017

Bikes of the Tour de France Teams - Cannondale Drapac

No prizes for guessing which bikes this team rides.

After the Cannondale-Drapac team were seen training on disc brake equipped Supersixes early in the season it was thought they might be making a lot of use of the disc brake equipped version through the tour.  However, although Marcel Kittel has ridden a disc braked Specialized for all his stage wins Rigoberto Uran was on a rim braked Supersix when he won the final sprint in Chambéry on Stage 9.

We've written about the Supersix before - it's a lightweight all rounder that stands out from the pack by looking so conventional.  Up close you appreciate the attention to detail - the frame junctions are all beautifully realised and the aero tweaking of the tubes is elegant.

The Synapse is Cannondale's comfort/endurance frame and is always popular and highly rated by reviewers. Vertical compliance and shock absorbtion comes from the curved seatstays and split seat-tube with added comfort from the narrow diameter seat post.

The pro-team were riding them for the Paris-Roubaix earlier this year but we're unlikely to see them in use at the Tour de France.
