When it comes to upgrading your bike there is a certain balance to be had between effort, cost and performance gains. The simplest and easiest way to maximise that is to upgrade your wheels from an alloy set to a carbon set. With less rolling resistance, a lighter weight, and aero gains to be had the advantages are clear. With Parcours recently coming onboard with us as a wheel offering we wanted to show you the benefits that upgrading to carbon wheels can show.
Parcours was setup a few years ago with the simple aim of making aerodynamics more accessible. They wanted to be able to offer carbon wheelsets that wouldn’t set you back an arm and a leg. In their own words:
We all want to go faster, ride longer or climb higher but why pay more than you need to?
We’ve laid out an example below to give you an idea of the kind of options you have with Parcours range of stock.
Cervelo S3 Disc with Parcours Passista
The S3 disc is one of the great aero bikes of the past few years. This one we have in stock here comes with a more budget-friendly set of Bontrager Paradigm alloy wheels.
But when fitted out with a set of Parcours Passista the difference is stark.
Not only does it look more the part but we managed to shed a few grams and add some all important aerodynamics to this full build. At only £875 for a complete set that's a significant saving on other comparable brands offering mid to deep section carbon wheels.
Other upgrades that could work would be something like the Parcours Chrono, their deepest section wheelset, added onto this Cervelo P3. At under £4,000 that would make for one hell of a TT/Ironman bike! Or why not simply add a set of their punchy Parcours Grimpeur to a bike such as this Trek Madone 6.5. That would give you a full carbon Di2 road bike for under £2,000!
Of course, this is just an example of what could be done on our own current stock. If you feel your bike could do with that little extra something but don't want to spend on a whole new bike then carbon wheels make for an excellent upgrade.
All Parcours Wheels are available in disc and rim as well as Campagnolo, Shimano and Sram compatible freehubs. They are all new and come with a full Parcours Warranty.
